10 Making of a Metaverse Zen Temple – Part 2 Photogrammetry

The Metaverse is on everyone’s lips these days, but few people understand what it is. This video series explains the creation of metaverse content in a fun, digestible format that anyone can understand.

We at Mimir LLC have the great honour of capturing a real-life Zen temple, the Jewel Dragon Temple in Gifu, Japan, and recreating it in the Metaverse. In this video we explain in plain language how we do this. In this second instalment, we explain how we use photogrammetry to capture the interior of a Zen temple. You will also see a walkthrough of a 3D model of the temple currently under construction.

Even if you are not familiar with the Metaverse, VR or 3D technology, you can learn about the principles of photogrammetric photogrammetry in an easy-to-understand way. The video also provides historical background on the architecture of the temple and photogrammetric technology.
