In order to truly understand Blockchain “technology”, we first need to look at it as a philosophy. Blockchain technology (distributed ledger technology) straddles many different areas of study. What is money? What is value? What are the rules of value exchange? What is democracy, socialism, communism, capitalism? What is cryptography? Distributed ledger technology is a technology that proposes a new way for humans to coordinate activities, create value for society and to distribute that value in a fair and transparent manner.
